LOBC-Team: Healing and restoration in Bolivia

It was Wednesday morning when we arrived, exhausted after a dramatic 36-hour journey and running on barely two hours of sleep. A kind man from a local church picked us up and welcomed us into his home. As we sat together making small talk, he began to sing a Swedish worship song, sharing from his time as a missionary there. In that moment, the weight of the journey caught up with us, and we began to cry. Questions filled our minds: what was going to happen on this trip, could God really use us like this, and did we even have the strength to be there? He gently encouraged us to rest, and after a short nap we were picked up by the pastor and reunited with the rest of the team. After breakfast and several hours of sleep, we felt more alive—still tired, but ready. We were reminded that in our weakness, God is our strength.

It is time for Laos!

So wonderful to be back in Laos. I was here the first time 25 years ago, and ever since that visit, something in my heart has remained connected to this beautiful nation. I have always wanted to come back—and now, finally, I am here again. Walking these streets, meeting the people, and sensing God’s presence so strongly reminds me that His timing is always perfect.

Aweis Is the Impossible: A Somali Christian

Aweis Ali’s testimony is unique. That it is even possible to share it with the outside world is even more remarkable. He is a Christian from Somalia, a country that has been in the top ten on the World Watch List since its inception in 1993. But God has done the impossible.

A generation on fire

When we were asked to lead a youth mission team, it was hard to imagine what that would look like. This younger generation, now in their teenage years, is often labeled as “distracted,” the “TikTok generation,” the “anxious generation,” and so many other things. What we discovered, however, is a generation that is on fire for God—seeking to grow, stepping into their God-given gifts, and boldly sharing the Gospel.

World Watch List 2026 – Ökad våld och större kontroll

World Watch List 2026 – Increased violence and control

For the first time since 2017, Syria is back in the top ten of the World Watch List. This follows a sharp increase in violence against Christians in the country. The list also shows that the very severe violence against Christians in Sub-Saharan Africa remains a major problem, not least in Nigeria.

“Why would you come to Myanmar?”

When we heard the Holy Spirit say to us He wants us to go to Myanmar, we did not know anything about the country. Only where it was on the map. Then, a few weeks before we left, we found out about the civil war that has been going on for decades, but has exploded the most in February 2021. Surprisingly, that information did not create any fear or doubt in us - we knew this was where God wanted us, so we were not worried.

Vibrant Outpost Becomes a Growing Church

In the small town of Milovice, about thirty minutes outside Prague, we encounter the thriving congregation Jesus House. In February, I finally had the opportunity to visit this remarkable place.

We Are the Light of the World

The bustle of people meets you immediately at the airport. The many sounds—sometimes deafeningly loud—can be heard from every direction during the drive from the airport to our accommodation. The smells, the colors, everything all at once. The contrast to our quiet street back home in Sweden could not be greater. And yet, it feels so much like home.

Bible school teams are out!

Every year, we send out mission teams from our Bible school in Uppsala to serve, learn, and partner with local churches around the world. These teams are not just traveling—they are stepping into God’s global mission, carrying the Gospel with humility, faith, and a willingness to learn.

Called across borders

José and Marcela are a pastors couple that this year have travelled from Spain to attend Word of Life Bible Center. They carry a story that spans nations and testifies about the faithfulness of God. What began in a home group meeting has grown into a journey marked by church leadership, discipleship, and a deep longing to see revival in Europe.

No eyes on Africa?

Today, more than 35 conflicts are ongoing across around 15 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The escalating cycle of violence has left over 45 million people impoverished and displaced. At least one third of them (16 million) are Christians. This has taken place with very little international attention and remains largely underreported.

New missionaries in Asia!

In January, we had the joy of sending out four new missionaries to Asia, who over the coming six months will travel to various countries to serve in churches, teach, and share the gospel. Two of them, Estera and Oliwia, both came to the Bible school from Poland in 2023 and graduated from the second year last spring. During their time at the Bible school, they developed a strong desire for missions.

TV-Bible School in North Africa

In recent weeks, a Word of Life Bible School has been launched in Cairo for Sudanese refugees. The initiative is carried out by a Russian organization that operates a school for Sudanese refugee children. As they sought ways to provide solid and high-quality Bible teaching for parents and friends, they came into contact with Word of Life Moscow, through which they learned about our TV Bible School. This program is now being implemented in cooperation.

From Revival to Movement: 30 Years of Word of Life in Slovakia

It was such a joy to celebrate 30 years of Word of Life in Slovakia during our annual Faith Conference in Bratislava in November 2025. We have so much to be grateful for to the Lord over the years.

Proclaiming Light in Darkness: Planting seeds in Brașov

In the embrace of November’s darkness, a handful of fellow students from LOBC and I were sent to Romania to proclaim the gospel of light along the cobblestone streets of Brașov (Acts 26:18).

A Time to Pray for Japan!

This month I had the privilege of visiting Japan for the very first time — a nation that has long fascinated me for its beauty and culture, but also burdened my heart because of its great spiritual need.

Faith and Mission in the Philippines

We recently gathered in Manila, Philippines, for a meaningful time of teaching, fellowship, and prayer at Mt. Moriah Church. Pastors Christian Åkerhielm, Ville Männistö, Ruben Hansen, and Thomas Hansen ministered together, and around 200 pastors and leaders from 20 churches across the islands came to be part of it.

Asians for Asia — A New Missions Moment

For more than twenty years, Word of Life has carried a deep love and calling for Vietnam and the nations of Southeast Asia. When our church in Vietnam was first planted, we did not fully know how God would lead us or how wide the impact could grow. But we prayed, we worked, we trained leaders, and we kept our hearts open for whatever God wanted to do. Today, when I look back, I can only say: God has been faithful.

Asian Summit 2025 — A Moment of Spiritual Renewal

Asian Summit 2025 was a deeply refreshing and meaningful experience for me personally. As this was my very first Word of Life Summit, I entered the event with an open heart, ready to receive whatever God wanted to do. One of the most memorable aspects was how God prepared my heart and spirit for a broader and deeper understanding of His calling on my life.

Hope Rising in Myanmar

I have been here with my family for some days, and it has been such a joy to be in Myanmar again. This beautiful nation has faced so many challenges in recent years — political unrest, economic collapse, and deep suffering among the people.

Faith in the Heart of Laos

It is so exciting to be back in Laos! What a beautiful nation this is, with kind people, gentle smiles, and stunning landscapes. The Mekong River winds its way through green hills, motorbikes fill the streets of Vientiane, and life often moves at a slower, quieter pace compared to its bustling neighbors.

LOBC Teams – God is moving in Sweden!

In early October, second-year students at Word of Life Bible Center had the opportunity to put their faith into action. Several teams were sent out on missions across Scandinavia and Europe, where they encountered people, experienced God’s guidance, and gained unforgettable experiences.

New steps in Spain

The persecution in Jerusalem struck with full force. The believers who were scattered went from place to place, preaching the gospel. One result of this was the birth of the church in Antioch. This pattern has repeated itself throughout the history of the Church and missions: refugees became missionaries, and the gospel reached new areas.

Missions in Thailand – A new time for Asia

Recently, I had the privilege of preaching at Nexus Church in Bangkok, a vibrant and forward-moving Thai congregation that God is using in a powerful way. Even though Nexus Church has only been around for 17 years, they have already planted 48 churches across Thailand as well as four campuses in Bangkok.

Indian Children: Building Futures

Sixteen years ago, we traveled for the first time to Kolkata together with our two young sons. We planned to volunteer for one year, but it became two – two of the best years of our lives. We got to experience a different world, form lifelong friendships, and be part of making a difference.

The Gospel to Japan!

Japan is one of the world's largest unreached peoples, with around 0.5% evangelical Christians. That means about 125 million people there don't know Jesus. This spring, we - a team of four second-year Bible school students - went on a mission trip there.

North Macedonia

So many exciting things have happened here in Macedonia this spring. Since September last year, we have had the privilege of working with one of the local parishes, Trinitas.
