A Bible school has started in the Philippines

“Ville, I feel that there will be many new churches started with these people.” That was what Bishop Vic told me on the very first day as we opened the Bible school in Manila, Philippines. I could see it in his eyes—faith, expectation, and a deep conviction that something significant had begun.

Today, we have 58 students from 17 different provinces across the nation. In addition, one student has come from Myanmar and another from Cambodia. Most of them are already active leaders and pastors within the Mt. Moriah Church movement that Bishop Vic has faithfully built over the years.

I had the privilege of teaching during the first week, focusing on faith. From the very first lesson, you could sense how the Word of God touched their hearts. There was a deep hunger in the room—an openness and a readiness to receive. These are not passive listeners; they are people who are preparing to go out and make a difference.

Our missions strategy is simple: to train local believers who can multiply themselves. We are not just building a school—we are building a movement. Each student represents a province, a church, a network of people. When they return home, they will carry more than notes from a classroom; they will carry vision, faith, and the Word of God. And from that, new churches will be planted, leaders will be raised, and communities will be transformed.

More and more, it feels like this is Asia’s time. Doors are opening in ways we have not seen before. There is a spiritual openness, a readiness, and a momentum that is hard to ignore. Among all the nations, the Philippines stands out as a place where we sense a strong calling to invest further in the coming years.

The school itself is intense. It is a three-month residential program, with six lessons each day. The students live together in the same building, sharing life, prayer, meals, and fellowship. This creates a unique spiritual atmosphere—one where growth happens not only in the classroom, but in everyday life. It is powerful to witness.

As we spoke again, Bishop Vic smiled and said, “We are truly in a season of something new where God is preparing us for a great harvest to come!” And standing there, seeing these students, I knew—this is just the beginning.

Testimony: A Faith That Cannot Be Silenced

When we heard we have the opportunity to go to Vietnam, our team was thrilled. It’s a
country of such rich culture, amazing food, and humble people. But we also knew the Church of Vietnam is under great persecution. Over the past year the scrutiny of government observation of Christians has increased in some areas of Vietnam. God’s people are facing rejection from their communities, pastors are being thrown into prison and their religious materials are being confiscated.
