New missionaries in Asia!

In January, we had the joy of sending out four new missionaries to Asia, who over the coming six months will travel to various countries to serve in churches, teach, and share the gospel. Two of them, Estera and Oliwia, both came to the Bible school from Poland in 2023 and graduated from the second year last spring. During their time at the Bible school, they developed a strong desire for missions.

Both encountered the idea of missions early on, but their paths have been different. Oliwia first heard about missions at the age of 14 at a Christian camp, where stories about Bible translation and work among unreached people groups sparked both fascination and a sense that it was beyond her reach. During Bible school, God began to speak clearly to her again about missions, through teaching, people, and prophetic words.

Estera, on the other hand, had long envisioned a different future, with studies and a more traditional career. Missions was not on her heart, and she thought she would serve God in other ways. But by taking one mission trip at a time, she began to notice her love for missions growing. She describes how God has guided her step by step, without showing her the whole picture at once. She doesn’t know if missions is her lifelong calling, but she is confident that it is her calling for now.

For Estera, missions is also about a deep sense of urgency. She shares that she carries a strong conviction that God’s work is urgent and that there is much He wants to accomplish before Jesus returns. This awareness has motivated her to dedicate her life to building God’s kingdom. The love she has experienced from God herself, she wants to make available to others as well.

They have now set out for Asia for a challenging yet rewarding six months. They look forward to the fellowship, both with each other and with the people they will meet. They are excited to learn about new cultures, connect with people on a deeper level, and see what God will do in and through them as they live and serve together.

The journey begins in Thailand, where they, together with Ville Männistö and the two other missionaries who were sent out at the same time, will prepare to receive teams from the second-year students. Let us pray for Estera, Oliwia, and the other missionaries who are now serving in Asia.
