A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Livets Ord’s church in Baku, Azerbaijan, together with René Lobos, and we witnessed God perform wonderful miracles.

New Pioneer Work in Ukraine

A two-week intensive tour throughout Ukraine has just concluded. Together with a team, we visited churches within the Word of Life network across the entire country.

God is advancing in Kosovo.

Since September, my teammate Kim and I have been stationed in North Macedonia. We have witnessed God moving in a powerful way and look forward with expectation to what God will do this spring. One of the new doors God has opened for us is the neighboring country of Kosovo. Kosovo is primarily a Muslim country, but it still has a few smaller churches scattered throughout.

Upwinds in the Balkans

It was truly a heartfelt reunion with many dear friends we recently had in Bulgaria. Many memories surfaced from our pioneering trips there back in the early ’90s when the country was still communist.

The Gospel has no boundaries

In the letter to the Galatians, we find an interesting insight from Paul. He tells us that after his encounter with the Lord on the road to Damascus, he went to Arabia (Galatians 1:17) and stayed there for a long time.

Our mission is simple

Last autumn, I received a revelation that challenged me, and I hope it will challenge you too. Let me tell you about it. I have had the privilege of working with Livets Ord’s Bible schools in India, and during this academic year, I have taught a second-year class focused on creating growth in the church.

Christmas cheer in Kolkata

Is there anything better than seeing children smile and sing with joy? And especially when they are children from the slums of Kolkata, those who don't go to school, but have to stay at home and work collecting garbage? These children have very little to rejoice about, as they live a hard life in severe poverty.

The Word of God wears no chains …

The word of God has no shackles, not even in Ukraine. The war has now been going on for almost two years and unfortunately looks set to continue for a long time to come. Amidst all the difficulties, the Word of God is being preached and many are coming to faith.

International Christmas Party

Christmas parties have always been a good opportunity to reach out with the gospel. Pastor Jan Blom said that the first time he came to Word of Life, it was for a Christmas party organized by the youth in our church. At the Christmas party he was given a book written by Sandy Brown, which he then devoured at home. At the end of the book was a prayer of salvation which he then prayed - and we know the rest of the story!

A blessed time in Vietnam!

We had a wonderful end to 2023, as we were finally able to organize the World of Life Asian Summit for the first time! This was important for us, as our pastors and leaders in Asia had not been able to attend our previous Summits and conferences.

Mission-trip!

At the end of November, the entire second year class from the Word of Life Bible Center went down to North Macedonia and Serbia for an exciting mission trip. The first five days were spent in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

Testimonies from Afghanistan

I was born in Balkh province in northern Afghanistan into a Muslim family and grew up with three sisters and two brothers. I lost my mother when I was a child and my father married another woman.

We continue to support Israel

On October 7, Israel suffered the worst terrorist attack in modern times. The shelling of civilians continues and a quarter of a million residents of Israel have been evacuated from the northern Galilee and the Western Negev in the south. The Word of Life wants to help show solidarity with the people of Israel by providing gifts to the following four organizations.

On an adventure to Norway!

Bags were rolled, carried and dragged out to the parking lot at Livets Ord, Uppsala for departure to Asker, Norway.

We’re back in the Czech Republic with a Bible school!

With a smile on my face, I looked out over a group of 30 young people, ready to receive Bible teaching. They were so eager to listen to me and go deeper into God's Word that I almost thought I was somewhere in Asia. But no, this was in the heart of Europe - in the Czech Republic - one of Europe's most secularized countries.

Led by the Holy Spirit in Croatia.

A few weeks ago, I (Lovisa) and Ester went on a mission trip to Croatia. We visited three local churches in different cities. This trip meant so much to us personally, as well as to the people we had the opportunity to meet, both inside and outside the church.

It sounds like you might be referring to a healing experience or event that took place in Romania. Could you share more about what happened? I’d love to hear your story or learn more about the healing you’re mentioning.

In mid-November, we were in Oradea, Romania, and stayed there for about a week. The city has over a hundred churches and cathedrals, making it a religious hub in the country. It felt like you could see a church on almost every other street.

Pastors’ Conference in Ukraine

For the past one and a half years of intense war in Ukraine, we have worked hard both humanitarianly and spiritually. The Livets Ord churches have been key in enabling us to carry out significant humanitarian efforts. At the same time, we need to strengthen the churches, both pastors and leaders.

Bible school launch in Poland.

You and I stand together to expand God's kingdom, everywhere there are people. It's amazing! Our whole lives can be dedicated to this service, and the best thing we can do is start as soon as we've entered into God's kingdom, as soon as Jesus has become our Lord!

Mission trip to Czech Republic

The last weekend in September, a cheerful group from LOBC went on a mission trip to the Czech Republic to serve the Word of Life church in Jihlava.

Jesus to North Macedonia!

Last week, we had the joy of hosting several teams from Sweden, Poland, and the Czech Republic here in Skopje, North Macedonia—to evangelize together and reach the youth of the city with the gospel. It was an absolutely amazing week! Many people heard the message of salvation, and young believers were encouraged to live boldly for Jesus.

Ukraine

The feeling when artillery fire thunders nearby is, of course, special—even though you start to get somewhat used to it after all the visits to the country. Together with my travel companions, I am about 15 kilometers from the front line.

“Christians to Israel and Israel to Christians”

At the beginning of summer, we had the privilege as a congregation to travel to the country of Israel. This time, the group was a bit smaller and consisted of people of very different ages. There were elderly women who had difficulty walking from the bus to the places we visited, a Catholic Iraqi woman who had heard about the trip through our programs on YouTube, and several young couples visiting Israel for the first time.

400 miles by minibus – from Odessa to the European Conference

The conference week is underway, and from the church hall there is a faint sound of drums indicating that the rehearsal for the morning service is underway.

Making disciples in India!

I think the most amazing thing about missionary work is seeing local people saved and transformed. Over the course of almost 15 years, I have witnessed this in India over and over again.

New Missions Youth Movement

God has worked in the most amazing ways throughout our forty years of ministry. Time and again He has opened doors that we hardly thought possible and through prophetic speeches and visions shown us the way forward, and time and again we have responded in faith.

Next country – India

“The next country is India” was proclaimed in a prophetic address in 1996. A new wave of mission was at hand for us as a church. We had done a lot of work in the former Soviet Union, but now the Lord was directing us to Asia as well.

“Leave the old harvest fields and go to the mountain people. They will receive the gospel and pass it on”

In 1996, Pastor Ulf Ekman saw a vision for a change in the church's mission work.

Take the Jews out of the Soviet Union

For a few intense but wonderfully glorious years, the church experienced and operated in prophetic dimensions where God Himself and the words of the Old Testament prophets guided our steps!

The train through Russia

It was a Wednesday in the spring of 1989. Ulf and Birgitta Ekman were sitting together with Carl-Gustav Severin in a conference room at Livets Ord in Uppsala. Suddenly Pastor Ulf became completely still. A strong presence of the Holy Spirit filled the room. “I see a train,” he explained to the others.
