We’re back in the Czech Republic with a Bible school!

With a smile on my face, I looked out over a group of 30 young people, ready to receive Bible teaching. They were so eager to listen to me and go deeper into God’s Word that I almost thought I was somewhere in Asia. But no, this was in the heart of Europe – in the Czech Republic – one of Europe’s most secularized countries.

There is a hunger for God’s Word in Europe! We believe in a new wave of Bible Schools in Europe. This year we have 9 Bible Schools going on at the same time, which is more than we have ever had in Europe in our 40 years of mission history. So, God is doing something through these schools.

The Bible school in the Czech Republic is located in the church building in Milovice. The town is not far from Prague, the country’s capital, and we also have students coming from other parts of the country. We believe that this school will grow and play an increasingly important role as a national Bible center. “We have waited so long to have a Bible school in our church!” said the head leader, Janette Oubrechtova. “It is of utmost importance for our growth that all church members have the same foundation in their lives, and it’s so much easier to preach when you know the listeners have the basic knowledge,” she continued.

Previously, the church has sent many people to study in Uppsala, but not everyone can move there due to jobs, family situations, and so on. Now, they have the opportunity to attend the Bible school in Milovice! Half of the teachers come from the church in Uppsala, while the other half are from the Czech Republic or from Livets Ord churches in neighboring countries.

“I am so grateful for every revelation and all the spiritual wisdom and knowledge I have received through this teaching. And I enjoy learning more about things I thought I already knew. ‘What a Spirit-filled celebration this is for me!’ exclaimed one of the students when asked about their experience so far.”
