Mission trip to Czech Republic

The last weekend in September, a cheerful group from LOBC went on a mission trip to the Czech Republic to serve the Word of Life church in Jihlava.

The trip ended up involving a lot of evangelism. Among other things, we had the opportunity to reach out to people on the streets and share the gospel with everyone we met. Four people gave their lives to Jesus through street evangelism, and we also got to pray for and testify to many others.

One of the guys from our team saw a young teenage boy with a cross around his neck in a skateboard park. He approached the boy and began sharing his testimony and speaking about God’s love. Our team member then asked if he wanted to receive Jesus right then and there. The boy with the necklace said “yes,” and they prayed a salvation prayer together in the park. Our team member experienced such a supernatural joy over what had just happened—a joy he had never felt before. “In the same way, there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents—more than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

That same evening, I was out evangelizing with a girl from the local church in the Czech Republic. We prayed that God would surprise us that night, and after walking through the streets for a while, we saw a homeless man. We started talking to him—I shared the gospel in English, and my Czech friend translated for me. After listening to everything I had shared with him, he wanted to receive Jesus as his Lord. Right then and there, we prayed the salvation prayer together. God truly surprised us!

Another girl from our team met a young woman on the bus. Even though she felt tired, she chose not to limit God and started talking to her—and it turned out they would be riding the bus together for quite a while. The girl from our team began to testify about all the miracles she had seen and shared the gospel. They then prayed together, and the young woman felt a deep sense of peace throughout her whole body afterward. They exchanged contact information, and the young woman on the bus messaged her right after.
The next day, they met again in the park. The first thing the young woman said was that the prayer had really worked for her—she was already seeing several answers to prayer! She even found mutual friends with our Christian Czech friends and got connected to the church. We could so clearly see how God was truly pursuing her heart!

All Glory to God!

LOBC-Team: Healing and restoration in Bolivia

It was Wednesday morning when we arrived, exhausted after a dramatic 36-hour journey and running on barely two hours of sleep. A kind man from a local church picked us up and welcomed us into his home. As we sat together making small talk, he began to sing a Swedish worship song, sharing from his time as a missionary there. In that moment, the weight of the journey caught up with us, and we began to cry. Questions filled our minds: what was going to happen on this trip, could God really use us like this, and did we even have the strength to be there? He gently encouraged us to rest, and after a short nap we were picked up by the pastor and reunited with the rest of the team. After breakfast and several hours of sleep, we felt more alive—still tired, but ready. We were reminded that in our weakness, God is our strength.

It is time for Laos!

So wonderful to be back in Laos. I was here the first time 25 years ago, and ever since that visit, something in my heart has remained connected to this beautiful nation. I have always wanted to come back—and now, finally, I am here again. Walking these streets, meeting the people, and sensing God’s presence so strongly reminds me that His timing is always perfect.
