LOBC Teams – God is moving in Sweden!

In early October, second-year students at Word of Life Bible Center had the opportunity to put their faith into action. Several teams were sent out on missions across Scandinavia and Europe, where they encountered people, experienced God’s guidance, and gained unforgettable experiences. Here are a couple of the testimonies the students brought home – stories of what happens when we dare to take a step of faith!

Walking in Prepared Works in Örkelljunga

This mission trip was truly about stepping out in faith and trusting that God would intervene – and He absolutely did! It has been incredible to witness how God has worked, both in my own life and in the lives of the people we met.

Even before the trip began, I felt that God was preparing something special. During prayer at home, I sensed strongly that God wanted to lead me to a particular person, just like in Luke 15.

During evangelism in the city, I met two 18-year-old girls. The conversation began naturally – we talked and got to know each other, and I shared a little about Bible school and that we were there on a mission trip. Soon, it became clear that one of the girls had many questions about faith. She mentioned that she had recently seen several videos about God on social media and felt a strong curiosity.

I had the opportunity to pray for her, and she was deeply moved. She said, “Wow, I feel so calm and relieved.” This opened the door for a meaningful conversation about God’s presence and how we are all created for a relationship with Him. She received a Bible, I invited her to a worship night we were holding, and we exchanged contact information.

The next day, before the worship night, I texted her to remind her about the meeting. She replied that she would come, but a little later, because at that moment she was talking with another evangelist about being baptized! I was completely amazed. She came to the worship night that evening, and during the event, I saw several people gather around her to pray and talk. That night, she accepted Jesus and received the Holy Spirit. Thank you Jesus! It was incredible to see how God used the whole body, each person in their own way.

After the trip, I learned that she had told her mother about the experience. Her mother was overjoyed and curious, expressing that she herself also wanted to receive Jesus. We continue to pray for her and that the right people will be around her to guide her in discipleship.

It is encouraging and inspiring to see how God leads, prepares, and works through us when we dare to step out in faith. All glory to Jesus!

A Long-Awaited Encounter with God in Piteå

It was Thursday, and a prayer and worship night was on the schedule. We arrived early to set up and rehearse. It was my first time leading worship on stage, but my teammate Celina and I had practiced several times before, and it had gone well. This time, we also rehearsed with Celina’s brother for the first time. He is very skilled, but during the worship night, it was clear that it was our first time playing together. The worship sounded good at times, but mistakes happened, and it didn’t always sound as polished as we hoped. To our ears, the worship was nothing extraordinary.

The evening was structured so that the microphone was open for anyone who felt prompted to pray. Usually, the prayer group consisted mostly of older participants, which was also the case this evening – about 15 older people, along with our worship band and mission team. For most of the evening, the microphone remained unused, and by the end, no one outside our team had gone forward.

For most of the evening, the microphone remained unused, and by the end, no one outside our team had gone forward.

But the most amazing part came afterward. Another man, who had been sitting in the front and had, as far as we could see, barely participated during worship, came forward to the microphone. With tears in his voice, he shared that he had not experienced God’s Spirit so strongly in a very long time. Afterward, he sat down again.

It made me reflect on what caused God’s Spirit to move so powerfully. It could not have been the technical quality of our worship – it was far from flawless. Rather, I believe it was the heart behind the worship. Honest worship directed toward God allows His Spirit to move far more powerfully than a performance that is not truly from the heart.
