Miracles in Rwanda

Most of my life I have always felt a longing to go to Africa. I didn’t know how, I didn’t know where, but God put that longing in my heart for a reason. He had bigger plans than I could imagine. In Bible school, I was honoured to be sent to Rwanda.

As we were in prayer for our trip, we received several words from God about healing that we would see. We had a feeling that in Rwanda we would have a healing meeting, but we did not know where or how it would happen.

On one of our first days in Rwanda, we travelled to the countryside outside Kigali to a small village that had never been visited by missionaries. We shared our testimonies and the Gospel, inviting the people to receive God into their lives.

What started as a small meeting eventually became the whole village hearing the Gospel! At the end of the meeting, we asked if anyone needed intercession, and almost everyone raised their hands. It was at that moment that I realised this could be the healing meeting we had been praying for.

Before this trip, we were given not only a word about healing but also specific words about what we would see God heal. One specific word that stood out was that we would see a crooked back become straight. At the healing meeting we got to see a woman freed from a spirit of witchcraft, a woman’s blind eyes opened, and even see a crooked back become straight!

The man who had his crooked back healed shared an amazing testimony with us afterwards. The night before we arrived, he had a dream that evangelists would come to their village and he would be healed of the pain in his back. He told his wife about the dream and she questioned, ‘How would evangelists ever find our little village?’ That same day, God sent us exactly to their village, and we were able to pray for the man and his back became straight in Jesus’ name!

God sends us to places where it seems impossible to reach people. But God makes it possible! God made it possible for these people to hear the Gospel and for this man to be healed.

The time I spent in Rwanda has made me see so much of God’s diversity in His creation. How God’s love can look so different and meet people in so many different ways amazes me. Just as God sent us to meet these people in this village, He wants to send YOU to your city, your country and this world to find the people who are lost and hungry for more!

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to see how God is moving in Rwanda! This is just the beginning!

LOBC-Team: Healing and restoration in Bolivia

It was Wednesday morning when we arrived, exhausted after a dramatic 36-hour journey and running on barely two hours of sleep. A kind man from a local church picked us up and welcomed us into his home. As we sat together making small talk, he began to sing a Swedish worship song, sharing from his time as a missionary there. In that moment, the weight of the journey caught up with us, and we began to cry. Questions filled our minds: what was going to happen on this trip, could God really use us like this, and did we even have the strength to be there? He gently encouraged us to rest, and after a short nap we were picked up by the pastor and reunited with the rest of the team. After breakfast and several hours of sleep, we felt more alive—still tired, but ready. We were reminded that in our weakness, God is our strength.

It is time for Laos!

So wonderful to be back in Laos. I was here the first time 25 years ago, and ever since that visit, something in my heart has remained connected to this beautiful nation. I have always wanted to come back—and now, finally, I am here again. Walking these streets, meeting the people, and sensing God’s presence so strongly reminds me that His timing is always perfect.
