My name is Win Van Tam. For years, my life was characterised by emptiness and struggle. I worked in Malaysia, far from my hometown, seeking meaning in worldly pleasures that left me feeling more lost than ever. One day, in the midst of my brokenness, a man introduced me to Jesus. Although I didn’t take it seriously at first, God’s relentless love pursued me.
I remember the first time I stepped into a church. I was drunk and barely aware of my surroundings. I fell asleep during the service and was unaware of the words being preached. When I woke up, the church was empty and everyone had left. I felt ashamed and abandoned. But the man who had invited me to the church noticed that I wasn’t there when the service ended. He came back, woke me up and took me to his house.
This act of kindness changed everything. They did not judge me. Instead, they took care of me, fed me and made me feel genuinely loved. For the first time in my life, I felt a love that demanded nothing in return. It was through their actions that I began to understand the love of Christ.
As I listened to them talk about Jesus, something inside me changed. One day, during a Christmas service, I surrendered my life to Christ. I cried as I received him into my heart, and my life began to change in ways I could not have imagined.
God didn’t just transform me – he gave me a new purpose. I met my wife at church in Malaysia and we began to build a life together. Over time, I grew in faith and began to feel a calling to serve others, inspired by the pastor and church leaders who had welcomed me.

After six years of work, I returned to Vietnam with my family. At first, life was difficult and I struggled to understand God’s plan. But then my pastor encouraged me to go to Bible school. Although it was a challenge to sacrifice my time and resources, God’s faithfulness was relentless. He even worked in my wife’s heart to support my decision.
The Bible School deepened my understanding of God’s Word. I learnt what authority I have as a believer and how to share my testimony with confidence. Before, I was afraid to pray for others, worried that nothing would happen. Now I know that God’s power works through me and I boldly pray for healing and speak of his goodness.
Today, I host a small group in my home and share God’s love with my fellow man. My greatest desire is to serve with humility and preach God’s word with a pure heart. I pray for a job that will give me the freedom to devote more time to my ministry and trust that God will give it to me.
God’s faithfulness has been evident in every step of my journey – from Malaysia to Vietnam, from brokenness to transformation. I am living proof that his love can redeem, restore and give meaning to all who seek him.
