A new chapter for mission in Asia

fulfilling our mission to build an apostolic church movement that reaches the unreached – from our neighbourhood to the ends of the earth.

I recently visited Central Asia, in a city where the Word of Life movement has been planting seeds for years. In 1996, God gave a vision to take the gospel to the mountain people, with the hope that they would pass it on. Today, we are witnessing the fruit of that vision.

One of the most exciting milestones is standing on a property where the new church building for the local congregation is being built. They now have a smaller space, but this new building will provide a much-needed venue for larger services and expanded congregational ministry. In a country like this, with many challenges, having a functioning church building is not just a luxury – it is essential. It provides a space for fellowship, worship and outreach, allowing the Gospel to be spread more effectively.

But their importance does not end there. This church is actively involved in missions, sending teams to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, promoting the multiplication of the Gospel in regions that are often overlooked. The vision is alive – what started here in Tajikistan is now reaching beyond borders and impacting neighbouring countries.

This is the beginning of a new chapter for missions in Central Asia. As this church grows and strengthens, it will continue to send out labourers into the harvest, ensuring the multiplying effect of the Kingdom of God. It is a reminder that as we step out in faith, God’s vision for reaching the nations is moving forward in ways we could never imagine.

LOBC-Team: Healing and restoration in Bolivia

It was Wednesday morning when we arrived, exhausted after a dramatic 36-hour journey and running on barely two hours of sleep. A kind man from a local church picked us up and welcomed us into his home. As we sat together making small talk, he began to sing a Swedish worship song, sharing from his time as a missionary there. In that moment, the weight of the journey caught up with us, and we began to cry. Questions filled our minds: what was going to happen on this trip, could God really use us like this, and did we even have the strength to be there? He gently encouraged us to rest, and after a short nap we were picked up by the pastor and reunited with the rest of the team. After breakfast and several hours of sleep, we felt more alive—still tired, but ready. We were reminded that in our weakness, God is our strength.

It is time for Laos!

So wonderful to be back in Laos. I was here the first time 25 years ago, and ever since that visit, something in my heart has remained connected to this beautiful nation. I have always wanted to come back—and now, finally, I am here again. Walking these streets, meeting the people, and sensing God’s presence so strongly reminds me that His timing is always perfect.
