Although Christianity is a very small minority in Laos—less than 2% of the population—the church is one of the fastest-growing in all of Southeast Asia.

Most believers are part of small, house-based fellowships, often tucked away in rural villages. These gatherings are simple, humble, and at times risky. In a country where public expression of faith can draw unwanted attention, meeting together requires courage. Yet, just as in the book of Acts, the Gospel continues to spread quietly but powerfully. Even under pressure and persecution, the church in Laos has been multiplying, showing resilience, courage, and deep faith.

Spending time with these brothers and sisters reminds me of the early church—no large buildings or programs, just faith, fellowship, and the power of God at work in everyday lives. Their worship is heartfelt, their prayers passionate, and their hospitality deeply touching.

Laos may be small and often overlooked, but God is writing a powerful story here. And we are privileged to be part of it.

It is so exciting to be back in Laos!
