Even though Nexus Church has only been around for 17 years, they have already planted 48 churches throughout Thailand as well as four campuses in Bangkok. What a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the devotion of His people! As I stood there preaching, surrounded by passionate worshipers, I could feel the energy of a church that is alive, growing, and deeply committed to the Great Commission.

The message God placed on my heart was simple yet profound: “The little is enough when God is with it.” Far too often, we measure our impact by numbers, resources, or influence. But Jesus reminded us that even the tiniest mustard seed of faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). The widow’s two small coins were worth more to God than the large gifts of the rich, because she gave everything she had (Mark 12:42–44).

Even what seems small, like our time, prayers, or obedience, can become great in God’s hands.

This truth is crucial as we look ahead to the future of missions in Asia. We are living in a new era. Nations are opening, doors that once seemed closed are beginning to part, and the gospel is spreading at an incredible pace. Thailand is an important part of this story. Although the Christian population is still small here, the country’s hunger for truth and the churches’ willingness to engage in missions grow stronger every year.

We believe that God is calling us to invest in equipping believers across Asia. More Bible schools are needed to train pastors, leaders, and missionaries. More churches need to be planted—not only in cities but also in villages and rural areas where the gospel has not yet reached. And most importantly, we must mobilize Asian believers to reach out across Asia. The time has come for believers here to step into their calling—not just to transform their own nations, but also to be sent as missionaries to their neighbors: Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and beyond.

The experience in Bangkok was more than just a service; it was a glimpse of what God wants to do in this region. The little we have to give is enough when it is surrendered to Him. And together, we will see the nations of Asia touched by the power of the gospel.

Ville Männistö, Missions Coordinator

Word of Life

Recently, I had the privilege of preaching at Nexus Church in Bangkok, a vibrant and forward-moving Thai congregation that God is using in a powerful way.
