I lost my mother when I was a child and my father married another woman. After my father’s marriage, my siblings and I were left alone, and nothing could reduce our loneliness, and this event had many destructive effects on me, who was the youngest.

Due to the breakdown of my family and the lack of guidance and purpose in life, I started smoking and drinking alcohol at the age of fifteen. Since I was a teenager, I started working as a tailor and after a short time I made great progress in my work and earned good money, but I spent all my money on drinking with my friends. Throughout my life I tried to help this and that, but it was not for the sake of God, but to attract the attention of others and show off.

I was drowning in the sea of misfortune without realizing it, but Jesus rushed to my aid.

One day when I was on my way to the small market in our town to do some shopping, I met an Afghan Christian on the road whose behavior and speech fascinated me and we talked a lot on the way. He asked me to give me his number so that we could talk and introduce ourselves more. I gave it to him and this was the beginning of a great revolution in my life.

After talking for a while, he made a suggestion and asked me to read a few lines of the book he had sent me for mental peace. But that book had no meaning for me at first because I could not understand its meaning properly.

But a few days later, that was not the case. I became very interested in reading that book, which I later realized was the Bible.

I met many brothers and made many friends in Christianity. And I always liked to be with them.

One day, two Christian friends came to visit me and talked to me about God. They asked me: Do you accept Jesus Christ as God? I could not answer and I was also in a very bad mood. They continued and said: Repent and accept Jesus Christ so that Satan will come away from you.

Although it was difficult for me at first, I finally said out loud: “Jesus Christ, you are my God. I give myself to you. Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you, go away from me!”

I was dizzy for about half an hour and in a bad mood, but in the end the devil left me.

Now I try regularly to be with the word of God. It has been my experience that with God’s word and prayer the devil will stay away from me. The lack that I felt in myself for many years since I was a child has been filled by the merciful God with His love and presence. I am eternally grateful to my heavenly father for his grace and mercy!

I was born in Balkh province in northern Afghanistan into a Muslim family and grew up with three sisters and two brothers.
